What is BostonK9Concierge?
We service dogs and their owners by providing pet care solutions. As dog owners we understand the pressure of living and working in a city with a dog. Our team of experienced and caring professionals provide training, walking, sitting and overnight care. We work with local hotel guests who bring their dogs with them and need a sitter or walker.
Are your trainers certified?
Yes. CPDT-KA, which stands for Certified Pet Dog Trainer Knowlede Assessed. They go above and beyond spending their personal time accummulating hands on experience at the New England Dog Training Club and local Adoption Shelters including MSPCA and Boston Animal Rescue League in Boston.
Are you insured and bonded?
All our walkers and trainers are insured and bonded. While under our care, your pet is covered for any unforeseen accident or injury. If your pet were to cause an unforeseen accident to a person or animal while under our care while on assignment you are covered. Your home is protected and covered from any unforeseen accident that might occur in your home while we are supervising your pet. Separate from walking insurance we are also covered for sitting with your pet in your home, hotel or at our facility. Your pet is also covered while being transported to and from your home while under our care and supervision.
For the overnight boarding, would my dog be in a crate?
Depending on your needs we can provide overnight at your home or our facility in South Boston. Our overnight space is limited to accommodate only a handful of dogs. Because the space is small we only accomodate small breeds and no more than 2. The facility is set up like a living room and while there are crates, they are open in the event a dog chooses to take a break and hide out.
We want to move forward with hiring your service what are the next steps?
Register on our Client Generated Scheduling system (New CLIENTS link). Enter your and your pets profile then schedule the service and dates you'll need us. Once management receives the information, we'll set up an appointment with you over the phone or in person. We like to meet you and your pet in person when ever possible to go over specific instructions you may require, have you complete neccessary forms and pick up a copy of your key (if neccessary).
Do you have any requirements?
We require your pet be up to date on vaccinations (rabies, bordadella). A copy of your pet recent vaccinations must be on file. If you don't have this handy not a worry as we will contact your vet directly for a copy (with a copy of your signed authorization form).
Do you service puppies?
Yes. We highly recommend they be walked individually since they require undivided attention until month 5-6 when they need to start socializing. We offer puppy training while they walk and puppy kindergarten classes.
How many dogs do you walk in a Group Walk? 3-4 max leashed dogs.
Do you ever walk dogs off leash in a park or fenced in area? No our policy is to walk leashed dogs only. We do not bring your pet to a fenced in area and allow them to run around loosly without close supervision because of safety concerns with other dogs.
What areas do you service?
South Boston, Seaport, Fort Point, South End, Back bay, Beacon Hill, Charlestown.
What kinds of dogs do you take on or service?
We walk, train, sit and board all kinds of breeds and sizes small to large. There is no one kind of dog we work with.
Why license my dog?
Pet licensing ensures that every pet is traceable to its owner in order to foster pet-owner accounts. A Boston city dog license provides an excellent form of identification for your dog. Licensing increases the numbers of lost pets reunited with their owners. If your dog is lost, a license provides means of notification if your dog is found or taken to the animal shelter.
A City Of Boston dog license provides rabies identification. Every year, hundreds of people in The City Of Boston are bitten by dogs. Treatment for rabies can be avoided when the dog is displaying a current license. When proof of rabies vaccination is required to purchase an animal license, licensing provides a means to control and monitor rabies with office records of rabies vaccination. This in turn helps sever the link between wild animals with rabies and domestic animals from which humans are most likely to contract the disease.
Unlicensed dog owners may be cited for violation of city and state dog licensing laws ($50.00).
Why should I get my pet spayed/neutered?
Spayed and neutered pets are better, more affectionate companions.
Spaying a female dog or cat eliminates its heat cycle. Female dogs go into heat twice a year, lasting anywhere from three to fifteen days. During this time dogs are known to show nervous behavior and attract unwanted male animals.
Owners of spayed and neutered dogs receive a discount on their license fee.
It's good for your pet...
Spayed and neutered dogs and cats live longer, healthier lives.
Neutered animals are less likely to roam or fight.
It's good for the community...
As responsible pet owners, as well as a caring and concerned citizen, prevent a litter by having your pet spayed or neutered.
Obey the leash law and don't let your pet run loose. Keeping you pet under your control can help prevent unwanted breeding and protect your pet from getting lost or stolen.
Pet overpopulation caused by unwanted litters cost communities millions of dollars to control and eliminate unwanted animals.
